I abandoned my Animal Crossing Island: New Horizons and I feel bad

In April, I felt like I would never tire of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. There is much to do, collect and create: my island was (and still is) an ongoing project, always something make or design to adjust. I was in the midst of an island renovation when I started to spend days, then weeks, between gaming sessions. I successfully moved all the villagers’ houses, created a new museum setup, and planted a field of yellow flowers in front of my house.

Finally, it’s been over a month since I last played New Horizons, keep a quick log to take a screenshot for work. Everytime that think About playing the game, I felt a little guilty; When I returned, my island was definitely going to be covered in weeds. I wasn’t sure if I could passively drive my villagers aggressively to shame. The wedding update was not enough to draw me back into the game, to face the judgment of my villagers. But do you know what it is? Swimming!

In preparation for the first wave of summer updates, I have timidly returned to Sears (my island). And in fact, each of my villagers took it upon themselves to tell me how disappointed they were. For one thing, I missed Marina’s birthday. Lionel absolutely roasted me: “So the famous Nicole has finally decided to honor me with an appearance!” Even Samson, who is disappointed to say he hasn’t moved, told me a joke: “It’s been a while! Did you return to the mainland? I ask. “Huh? Aren’t you leaving the island? But I’ve been training swimming for weeks to visit you. (Ugh.)

Sticks and weeds are everywhere. (However, new summer weeds!) I don’t recognize any of the bugs or fish. Sears has changed, man. But I think it’s a good thing, at least for me. I played so frantically for the first few months that Nintendo’s slow trickle of content wasn’t enough to keep me interested. Now that things have cooled down, it seems like I can play New Horizons at a manageable pace, slowly discovering the island’s new creatures and enjoying new seasonal activities.

On Friday, Nintendo will launch its first wave of summer content, which includes Swimming, Pascal, and new recipes to create. Gulliver is also receiving a seasonal renewal. I’m anxious about Diving I’m heading to the update first, but I think I’ll try to have some self-control. After all, I’m not sure I can handle disappointing Marina again.
