Dallas (CBSDFW.com) – Dallas-based rapper Melvin Noble, alias Mo3, was shot dead by a suspect chasing him on foot on I-35E on Wednesday, sources close to the investigation told CBS 11 News.
The incident began when the victim was traveling on Clarendon Drive on I-35E in the northeast at around 12 noon when a suspect jumped out of a vehicle armed with a gun and approached the victim’s vehicle, police said. Police did not say whether the vehicles were stopped.
The victim, also known as Noble, 28, got out of his vehicle and started running south on the freeway, police said. The suspect chased the victim and fired several rounds at her, striking the victim at least once, police said.
According to police, a driver who was inside his vehicle was also shot.
Both victims were taken to hospital, where sources said Noble was pronounced dead.
The innocent passenger was treated for life-threatening injuries, police said.
No arrests have been made as police continue to investigate.
Mo3 is known for its 2018 hit single “Airbody”, which has been streamed millions of times.
