Hundreds of blessings were stoned overnight for participating in illegal parties violating COVID-19 restrictions, the New York City sheriff said Friday to taste the generality of New Year’s Eve.

At 2 a.m. on New Year’s Day, deputies responded to the Spath Bar Lounge on 58th Street and more than 25 people exited into a one-way emergency exit that was locked from the outside, Fusito said.
About 15 minutes later, deputies erupted and more than 100 people “gathered together drinking, karaoke singing and dancing” without covering their faces, the sheriff said.
The owner of the bar, Man Fun, 37, and his wife, Hee Bin Wang (Bin 37), were charged with violating an executive order, violating emergency measures and failing to protect health and safety. Fun was also charged with running an unlicensed bottle club, illegally warehousing alcohol and stopping a drunken woman and will have to pay a fine of Rs 15,000.
Fujito said indie 44-year-old Shindig’s DJ, Guwei Lin, was also charged and fined $ 1,000, along with 35-year-old employee Feng Xu.
In Brooklyn, deputies received 311 complaints of large, loud gatherings at Sunset Park’s Stars Hall for no social distance.
When officers arrived just before midnight they saw about 80 people dancing their 2020 blues and drinking hookah, Fusito said.
The party’s organizer, Al Zabidi, was given two present tickets for violating the emergency measures and the executive order and will have to pay a fine of Rs 15,000,000.
In Manhattan, sheriff’s officers found another illegal party in a Prince Street loft event space around 1 a.m. Friday, Fusito said.

On the sixth floor, deputies saw 145 people “dancing, drinking and smoking cigarettes” while not wearing masks or social distance, Fusito said.
Party organizers were fined $ 1,000. The promoter will have to pay 15,000.
