One of the few bright spots in the past quarantine months has been Josh Gad. “Gathered apart“YouTube series. Every few weeks, host a virtual meeting with the stars and other members of the production team for some of the most beloved movies of the 1980s like”Lord of the Rings” “Goonies” “Return to the future,” “Splash” and more recently “Ghostbusters”. Tomorrow (Sunday, June 28), Gad will end the series with a “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” reunion. Here is who is involved and how to watch.
Earlier this week, Gad released the teaser for the reunion (above), but unlike previous teasers for the series, it doesn’t really reveal much, other than that Matthew Broderick (who played Ferris Bueller) will be involved. Fortunately, the Today Show interviewed Gad about tomorrow’s meeting, and we learned that Alan Ruck (Cameron Frye), Mia Sara (Sloane Peterson), Jennifer Gray (Jeanie Bueller) and Ben Stein (who is simply credited as “professor of economics”) are also on the list, along with “Lots of surprises on the way”.
In each episode, Gad raises money for various charities. Previous organizations have included HOPE Project (a global health and humanitarian aid organization), Dig deep (working to ensure that all Americans have access to water and sanitation), The Center for Disaster Philanthropy (supporting those most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic) and Equal Justice Initiative (working to end mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, challenge racial and economic injustice, and protect basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society). At this point, you have not yet announced which organization will receive donations for this episode.
“Reunited Apart: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” will premiere on Sunday, June 28 at 9 am PST / 12 pm EST on Gad’s YouTube channel.
