Anyone can register to try iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 beta, which gives iPhone and iPad owners a preview of oncoming features later this fall. But as with any beta program, there are bugs and issues that can frustrate those who choose to install it. In fact, there are four reasons why you shouldn’t install it now.

Cleaning your beta iPhone or iPad it takes a little effort and time. It is a much easier process if you back up your device before installing the beta version. To return to iOS 13, you will need to have access to a computer and a Lightning or USB-C cable to connect your device to your Mac or personal computer.
Restore your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13
one) To uninstall iOS 14 or iPadOS 14, you must completely clean and restore your device. If you are using a Windows computer, you must have iTunes installed and updated to the latest version. If you are on a Mac, make sure your Mac software is up to date by clicking the Apple logo at the top of the screen and then selecting System preferences > Software update.
two) Connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer with a Lightning or USB-C cable.
3) Put your iPhone or iPad into recovery mode by following the specific steps for your device, listed below. You will know when you are in recovery mode when the screen of your device is black, showing a cable pointing towards a MacBook (like the image at the top of this post). Your iPhone or iPad will likely restart during this process, but don’t release the buttons until you see the recovery mode screen.
- If you have an iPhone 6S or earlier, an iPad with a home button, or a sixth-generation or older iPod Touch, press and hold the sleep / wake button and the home button at the same time until you see the recovery mode screen.
- For a 7th Generation iPhone 7, 7 Plus, or iPod Touch, press and hold the Sleep / Wake button and the Volume Up button at the same time until you see the Recovery Mode screen.
- For iPhone 8 or later, quickly press the volume up button followed by the volume down buttons, and then press and hold the side button until you see the recovery screen.
- IPad Pro users will quickly press the volume up button, then the volume down buttons, and then press the top button until you see the recovery screen.
4) You should see a message on your computer informing you that a device has been detected in recovery mode. It will ask you if you want to restore or update your device, select Restore. Your computer will download and install the latest official version of iOS 13 on your device.
If you don’t see a message, you’ll need to open Finder (on a Mac) or iTunes (on a PC), select your device, and then select Restore.
If you created a backup of your phone or tablet before joining the beta program, once iOS 13 is installed you will be asked if you want to use that backup to restore your device. If you did not perform a backup, you will need to start from a new installation.
There’s nothing wrong with going back to iOS 13: there is many features that deserve your attention. There are even a lot of hidden features that we thoroughly enjoy. Of course, if you are tempted by iOS 14, you can always install the beta version again, closer to its full launch.
