How to download latest Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft

When a newer version of Windows 10 is released, Microsoft releases new ISO disk images from the .ft install operating system to create a clean install or bootable recovery environment. This article provides two ways you can download the latest Windows 10 ISO images from MicroFit.

An ISO image is a sector-by-sector copy of a Windows DVD stored as a single ‘.iso’ file on your computer You can then burn this ISO file to another DVD, create a bootable USB drive, mount it as a drive letter in Windows, or extract its files using 7-Zip.

ISO Images is handy as it allows you to create bootable media that can be used as a recovery environment for troubleshooting or for a clean install of the latest Windows 10. You can also use it to create Windows 10 virtual machines using Hyper-V, VirtualBox. Or VMware.

Micro .ft uses their Windows 10 Media Creation Tool (MCT) to download the latest ISO image or create a bootable USB drive.

This article will show you how to use MCT to download the latest ISO or let you download the ISO images directly from the site of microsoft .ft instead.

Method 1: Use the Media Creation Tool to create an ISO

MicroStream provides a tool called Media Creation Tool that lets you download the latest Windows 10 ISO file or burn it to a USB drive.

To use the Media Creation tool to get the latest ISO, please follow these steps:

1. Visit the Windows 10 download page using your web browser.
2. Under ‘Create Windows 10 Installation Media,’ under ‘Click’Download the tool now‘Link and save the executable. At the time of this writing, the name of the MCT executable is MediaCreationTool 20H2x.
3. Once downloaded, run the program, and Windows will ask you to allow it to run. At this prompt, click Yes And MCT will load and prepare some items before moving on.

   
4. When done, you will be shown the license agreement. To continue, click Accept Button
5. The tool now states that it is ‘preparing a few things’, and when done, displays a prompt asking if you want to upgrade the computer or ‘Installation media for another PC (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file’ ) Create. ‘ .

   

   At this prompt, select Create installation media Option and then press Next Button

6. The media creation tool will now download and test the files needed to create an ISO or bootable USB drive. This process may take some time, so please be patient.

   

7. When done, MCT will ask you what language, architecture, and Windows edition you want for your ISO image. By default, MCT will use your local language and architecture, but you can uncheck Use the suggested options for this PC Checkbox to select other options.

   When done, click Next Button

   

8. You will now be asked if you want to create a bootable USB drive or Windows 10 ISO. As we are creating the ISO file, select ISO file Option and press Next.

   

9. You will now be asked to select a location to save your ISO file. Select a folder to save the ISO file to, and then click on it Save Button
10. The media creation tool will now create an ISO file in the specified location. Please be patient while the file is created.

    

11. When the Media Creation Tool has finished creating ISO, you can close the program by clicking Finished Button

    

You will now have the latest Windows 10 ISO image file saved in your folder, which can be used to create bootable media for virtual machines or at a later date.

Method 2: Download the latest Windows 10 ISO from Micro .ft

When you go to the “Download Windows 10” page of Micro .ft, you will be given the option to update to a newer version using Windows Update only or to use the Micro .ft Windows 10 Media Creation tool.

However, instead of changing your browser’s user agent from a non-Windows operating operating system, it is possible to trick Microsoft’s Windows 10 download page into offering a Microsoft image.

To download the latest Windows 10 ISO image, please follow these steps:

1. Go to the Windows 10 download page in any Chromium based browser like Chrome or the new Micro .ft Edge.
2. After that, click on the Chrome menu More tools, And then click Developer tools, As shown below.

   

3. Now press CTRL + Shift + M Keyboard combination to open the device toolbar. This toolbar lets you sync another device, such as a mobile phone or tablet.    The current ISO image is 8.8 GB, so it will take some time to download depending on the speed of your internet connection.

The ISO download link generated by MicroStft’s site will be valid for 24 hours and will be shared with others during that period. After 24 hours, the link will no longer work, and you will need to create a new one again using the steps above.

What should you do with ISO?

Now that you have a copy of the latest Windows 10 ISO image, you may be wondering what you should do with it.

This ISO image can now be mounted on virtual machines to upgrade the Windows installation or install a new one. You can also manipulate the ISO file to find a specific Windows system file.

Finally, you can use a free utility like ISO Image and Rufus or Universal USB Installer to create a bootable Windows 10 USB drive.

However, if the goal was to create bootable media, as explained in the steps above, the Media Creation Tool would be much easier to create for you.

Once you create a bootable Windows 10 USB drive or Windows 10 DVD, you can use it to clean install Windows 10. A clean install is when you have a full configuration of the PC and reinstall Windows 10, so you have a clean installation. Operating operating system without any additional software or drivers.
