Holidays temporarily halt ‘abundance of instability’ due to adverse reactions in suburban hospital – NBC Chicago

Four members of the team temporarily suspended a coronavirus vaccine at a suburban hospital on Friday after adverse reactions.

Since Thursday, four people receiving the Covid-19 vaccine have felt tingling and an elevated heart rate immediately after the injection, Libertyville Advocate Caddell Medical Center said.

“As a precaution, we are temporarily suspending vaccinations at Condell, which will give us time to understand what could be the cause of these reactions,” the health center said in a statement.

Advocate ur Rora Health reminded that four people experiencing adverse reactions account for less than 0.15% of the approximately 3,000 individuals who have been vaccinated so far in their health system.

The health center said Friday that three members of the team are at home and “doing well,” while one person is receiving additional treatment.

“Reactions are an expected side effect of vaccination. We are encouraged by our team members who are keen to get vaccinated to protect themselves and others and end this epidemic,” said advocate ur Rora Health.

Advocate ur Rora Health has three other vaccination locations in Illinois and three in Wisconsin, all of which are vaccinated as planned.
