Hidalgo County reported 25 more deaths on Tuesday as a result of coronavirus complications, including 528 additional cases – bringing the total number of deaths in the province to 999 and the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus to 22,826.
“Our collective hearts are heavy with sympathy. My deepest condolences to the friends and family of the 25 members of our community who have lost their battle against this horrific virus, ‘said Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez. “We must now take action and do what is in the best interests of our community. If you decide to participate in public activities, then stay protected by practicing daily preventive actions. ”
According to a news release from the province, there are currently 444 COVID-19 patients under hospital admission, including 185 in intensive care units.
Of the total number of people who tested positive in Hidalgo County since the beginning of the pandemic, 16,934 have been released from solitary confinement. According to the news release, there are currently 4,896 known active cases in Hidalgo County.
