The Assistant Secretary of Health recently stated that the United States is not flattening the COVID-19 curve. On Thursday, Brett Giroir announced that coronavirus cases are on the rise in many states due to a lack of social distancing and insufficient use of face masks.

“We are not flattening the curve at the moment,” he said. “The curve keeps going up.”

However, the secretary admitted that the recent increase in COVID tests could have revealed more cases.

“There is no doubt that the more evidence you get, the more you will discover. But we do believe that this is a real increase in cases, due to the increase in percentage positivities. So this is a real increase in cases. “ – Brett Giroir, Assistant Secretary for Health and Human Services

He did not mention that about 1.2 million Americans have recovered from COVID-19, which almost equals the number of active cases, which is 1.5 million.
