Luka Doncic took the league by storm in his second season in the NBA. The former Euro League MVP led the Dallas Mavericks to a record of 43-32 and sounded the 7th seed. The 21-year-old superstar average was nearly tripled this season with 28.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 8.8 assists.
It is safe to say that on a given night he could cause problems for the opposite defense. In the NBA 2020 Playoffs, Mavericks are tied with Clippers on 1 game-piece, despite the latter being a championship favorite.
Luka is known for his killer step-back threes, but according to his teammate Seth, it’s much more than that. He believes Doncic’s toy resembles Warriors superstar Stephen Curry.
What makes Luka Doncic a franchise player for the Mavericks?
The Dallas Mavericks had this best official in the league this season. Luke may not be the brightest defender in the league, but it’s his drive that inspires the Mavs with a wave of confidence.
Seth Curry made an appearance on The Ryen Russelo Podcast and had nothing but praise for the young star.
“It’s just the fun he plays with. He’s a young boy, and you can tell when he gets on the floor, he just loves the game. Honestly, it’s like Steph – it’s just a lot of fun. ” Seth said.
“He gets a lot of attention and can pass the ball and get it for me, ” added Seth. “He’s already special,” Seth concluded.
The way Luka enjoys playing basketball certainly reminds us of none other than Stephen Curry. Moreover, the way he plays, Luka can also win a few MVPs in his career.
Luka Doncic also broke the record for most points in a playoff debut earlier this week. This year’s playoff run will give him the much needed playoff experience. The Porzingis and Doncic duo were able to prove they were very lethal to the Los Angeles Clippers.
