Bungie went into more detail about what exactly will disappear Destiny 2 later this year, when the studio starts to swell for the first time in the game’s history and … it’s a lot. The main campaign of the base game will only disappear and most of its existing free to play content along with it.
De Lot Content Vault (DCV) was first announced in June during a livestream where Bungie outlined its plans for the future of Destiny 2. These include removing old content from the game as often as new items are added and legacy strikes, maps and robberies of Destiny 1 be brought back. The studio made clear that about half of Destiny 2Locations would go away when the Beyond Light expansion launches November 10, but now we have a much clearer picture of exactly how much content will be affected, thanks to a new blog post, and the consequences are quite broad. Here’s the full list of what Destiny will lose later this year:

And while many of the exotic weapons for the quests to be vaulted will be available through a special new kiosk, exotic weapons will include Outbreak Perfected, Whisper of the Worm, Worldline Zero, and Legend of Acrius will all be out for the foreseeable future.
As someone who goes in for hundreds of hours Destiny 2 since it launched in 2017, vaulting feels like a bittersweet farewell. For newer players, the experience of the game for November 10 will change forever, and there will be no way to go back and experience Destiny 2 in its entirety. It is also unclear what exactly is new Destiny 2The free-to-play experience will consist of.
“With some of the core Objective 1 destinations entering the Vault, it’s true that the free-for-all players Red War, Osiris’ Flight and Warmind campaigns are no longer playable,” the studio writes. Instead, it sounds like the first two years of Destiny 2The content after the launch will be replaced with a new Cosmodrome-centric mini-campaign. Meanwhile, anyone who wants to play Forget it of Shadowkeep content will still need to purchase both of these extensions. Effective Destiny 1 en Destiny 2 are fused together, but while Destiny 1 stay intact, Destiny 2 because the platform for this new experiment will lose a lot. The vaulting process makes sense from a practical point of view, Bungie has mentioned in the past the difficulties in maintaining such a sprawling game, but it still strikes me when I think of the campaigns and DLC people paying for removal of the game installed on her hard drive.
