Keke Palmer will be hosting the MTV Video Music Awards for 2020 this Sunday, August 30, as the biggest stars come together (yet remain separate) for the musical show.
Many “first” moments will cement the 2020 VMAs as a historic one, in addition to the fact that it is being held virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic. BTS will make their first television appearance of their English single “Dynamite”, while Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande will make it for the first time on TV “Rain On Me” on stage, since releasing their number 1 hit. The two pop stars are leading nominations this year with nine each, and seven of them are specific to “Rain on Me.”
The Black Eyed Peas, who “Where’s the Love?” in the pre-show of VMAs 17 years ago, make their way to the main stage for the first time ever to perform “Vida Loca” from their eighth studio album Translation, for the first time. DaBaby is another for the first time VMAs performer. He was also nominated in the main category artist of the year and also two more for “BOP” – best hip-hop and best choreography.
But previously announced actions J Balvin and Roddy Ricch will no longer appear at the socially distant ceremony.
