HEB announced Tuesday that five other San Antonio employees have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the grocery store website.
The grocery store announced earlier this week that six employees at San Antonio stores tested positive for COVID-19. In June, more than 60 HEB employees working in supermarkets in San Antonio were infected with COVID-19, including 16 last weekend.

Since March, the supermarket chain has regularly announced when one of its employees tests positive and has done so because it believes “transparency is important,” according to an email response to mySA.com. HEB does not reveal the identity of the employee and only allows the public to know in which stores there was a positive case. Walmart and Target told mySA.com that it will not disclose that information to the public.
Here are five HEB stores with COVID-19 cases that were announced Tuesday:
– The HEB Market: The employee who tested positive for COVID-19 was last working at the store at 2139 Culebra Rd. On Wednesday, June 17.
– McCreless Market HEB plus!: The employee who tested positive for COVID-19 was last working at the store at 4100 South New Braunfels Ave. on Wednesday, June 17.
– Hello HEB Valley: The employee who tested positive for COVID-19 was last working at the store at 302 Valley Hi Dr. on Sunday, June 14.
– Flag and 1604 HEB plus!: The employee who tested positive for COVID-19 was last working at the store at 9238 N. Loop 1604 W. Access Rd. On Sunday, June 20.
– Leon Springs HEB: The employee who tested positive for COVID-19 was last working at the store at 24165 IH 10 West, Suite 300 on Monday, June 15.
It is unclear when the employees tested positive. HEB said it has cleaned and disinfected all stores multiple times. Employees who had contact with the infected employee have been notified, the supermarket chain said.
