It all started when Kevin McHale, who played the role of Artie, retweeted a fan post about “A Very Glee Christmas”:
In the tweet, the face of Mark Selling, who played the role of the puck, is covered with an emoji. In 2017, Mark was convicted of a child pornography charge after finding more than 55,000 images and videos of child pornography – along with some of the victims, who were ––– years young. He soon committed suicide while awaiting sentencing.
Heather then responded to Kevin’s retweet, calling EVG’s use offensive.
Although some people supported Heather, many later voiced their disapproval and responded:

After that, Heather tweeted about the “disrespect and disrespect” she received:
I never feel the need to justify anyone because things are better left unresolved. All of you who have a lot to say, I can get it, I understand you … Support is unforgivable. But this holiday season, in the midst of all the holidays, is incredibly difficult for many of us.
We didn’t just dismiss 2 cast members, we lost 3. And it’s so incredible to behave as invisible as 3G, because despite his actions being unreasonable, he was once a part of our family and he was mentally ill. Yes pedophilia is a disease but …
Although I don’t have to say it all, it’s true. So thank you for treating me with such disrespect and cruelty during that time that I can’t get a day without looking at the loss of my whole glee family … thank you
Which provoked a series of reactions in itself:

Some of Heather’s tweets regarding her response to Leah Mitchell’s allegations of racism were faced by Costar Samantha Vere earlier this summer:
@ Heathermorestive So this family is kindly selective, right? Because when one of her former co-workers needed support, she was abused by another member of the family, almost no one cares for her.
@ HeatherMorisTV shows new and some respect, no reason to group them with pedophile. And? but what? He is still a pedophile.
As for KP, he made no further comment – but appeared to be advocating for Mark to “cancel” like a tweet:
@ Jelly 17 @Allison_Sorrel @HathermoristV @DruidDU I agree that in most cases the canceled culture is toxic, but in this. There are some things in life that you just don’t do. And I hope that anyone who feels like they need to do something that they need to do before / before doing something will get help that will affect their next life.
