IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI / KIDK) – Alarmed by a huge increase in COVID-19 cases in several counties over the weekend, the Eastern Idaho Public Health Board of Health will hold a special emergency meeting on Monday.
The board will consider voting on possible actions to protect ‘life, health and safety in the neighborhood. ‘These actions may include inclusion of orders that include mandated face coverage and restrict social events and gatherings in Bonneville, Clark, Custer, Fremont, Jefferson, Lemhi, Madison and Teton Counties.
The new order discussed Monday night would limit social gatherings and events, both public and private, to a maximum occupancy of about 28 square feet per person and allow 6 feet between non-household members.
The order would also require that each person wear a face covering that completely covers the person’s nose and mouth, if they are in a public place and other non-domestic members are present and physical distance of 6 feet cannot be maintained.
Public places mentioned in the order where face covering would be required both indoors and outdoors.
The order includes circumstances of people who do not have to carry a requirement.
Violations of the order may constitute an offense punishable by a fine, imprisonment, or both under Idaho Code 39-419.
You can view the full sequence of restrictions that will be voted on during Monday night’s meeting below.
The board will meet at 6:30 p.m. at its Idaho Falls headquarters.
