“He hasn’t contacted me since 2018”

Karen Elson has spoken about Ryan Adams’ recent public apology, saying the disgraced musician needs to “contact the women he’s hurt” in private.

In February 2019, the artist denied the claims of several women, including one who was a minor at the time, for emotional and psychological abuse, harassment, inappropriate and manipulative behavior.

In a letter written to The Daily Mail And released yesterday (July 4), Adams apologized for how he has “mistreated people” and claims he is now seeking professional help after the allegations after a period of “isolation”.

“All I can say is that I’m sorry. It’s that simple, “he said. “This period of isolation and reflection made me realize that I needed to make significant changes in my life.

“I have passed the point where I would apologize only for the fact that I am released and I know very well that any apology on my part will probably not be accepted by those whom I have hurt. I understand that and I also understand that there is no going back. “

In a series of new tweets, Elson has said that while she “believes[s] In redemption and amendment even for him, “Adams” has not contacted me since 2018 to apologize for his terrible behavior. “

“In fact, back then he called me a liar, which added more pain and disappointed me with the entire music industry,” he continued.

“I would like to hope that he contacts the women he has hurt through his representatives to apologize privately and give us the opportunity to tell our truth about all the ways his actions caused suffering and for him to listen and try to make peace. That being said, I hope you are listening now. See the full tweets below.

The model and singer-songwriter, who was married to Jack White, released a statement in 2019 detailing a “traumatic experience” with Adams. The statement came after the publication of a New York Times exhibition, in which Adams’ ex-wife Mandy Moore, Phoebe Bridgers and more offered stories of their experiences with the artist.

Last month (June 17) Bridgers also spoke about her experience speaking about the sexual misconduct allegations against the singer, arguing that “there is a conversation about the privilege” so that others can also hear their voices.
