HBO’s John Oliver Says ‘F – k Danbury,’ Offers ‘Thrashing’

Comedian TV host John Oliver turned his attention back to Danbury during his HBO show “Last Week Tonight With John Oliver”, and this time, Danbury citizens, the insult did not come solely with an offer “to defeat you” , but he also begged us to save our children.

Oliver was in the middle of the last episode of his HBO show on Sunday night, (August 16, 2020) and during a story about the shortcomings in our country’s selection process of the jury, Oliver launched a personal attack on Danbury . Here’s the unedited video, the part I’m talking about at 5:47 – 6:44. I will give you an edited version of the transcript at the end.

Here is the transcript:

‘For example, in Connecticut it turned out that her computer program of the jury selection had read the’ D ‘in Hartford by mistake to mean dead. That for almost 3 years it has never named anyone from Hartford, or indeed New Britain, the second largest city in that district, because its list of names was accidentally incorrect, and was never included in the program. And the thing is, those 2 missing cities made up 63 percent of African Americans in the district, and 68 percent of the Spanish population, which is awful! ‘Cuz if you’ll forget a city in Connecticut, why not forget Danbury? Because, and this is true, F – k Danbury! From the charming Railway Museum, to the historic Hearthstone Castle, Danbury Connecticut can eat my heart. I know exactly 3 things about Danbury, USA Today ranks it the second best city to live in, in 2015. It was once the center of the American hat industry, and once you get there, you have a standing invitation to come get a thrashing of John Oliver, children included, f – k you!

Wow John, why are you so angry bruh? We know you will not like us, back in 2017 you mocked Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton, and the promotional video of the city tried to wait for Amazon, and guess what John, it worked. Amazon has chosen Danbury as one of the lucky cities in Connecticut to get a distribution facility. The Danbury Railway Museum is still open on Saturdays, despite your best efforts to view its reputation, Oliver. And, even though it’s been 5 long years since that stinking loss to stupid Meridian, Idaho, we still have enough of the “second-best city in the U.S. in 2015” pride to accept your splashing challenge. Meet us in Tarrywile, punk, you know where, come see our Knights of Aunt Hack Road defend our castle against your brilliant, dry British wits.

In fact, Mayor Mark took to Twitter this morning, offering a bare knuckle match. What do you say, funny?
