Michael Che is generally the best half of Saturday night liveWeekend update desktop, and not just because saying otherwise It is a good way to shout on Instagram (without offending Colin Jost, but he has all this … Colin Jost happening). However, thanks to HBO Max, Che is walking away from the desk and venturing out for a six-episode comedy show. The still-untitled series will focus on episode-specific themes (such as “police brutality, unemployment, infatuation, etc.”), with Che using “sketches and bullets to illustrate how it feels to experience this from a black point of view. “That comes from a press release, adding that” it is less about being ‘right’ and more about being honest, even at the risk of being controversial. ” That part seems to come out of nowhere, and it’s a bit troubling as it always happens when a comedian suggests they are going to say something. controversial, but who knows. Che could certainly use this platform to present some hard truths, and it will be interesting to see how different this is from his SNL stuff.
It is not known when this will come out or what its actual title will be; the press release refers to him as Untitled Michael Che Project, but that name gag is overused at the moment.
