Hayden Panettiere has broken her silence about the alleged abuse she suffered at the hands of her ex-boyfriend, Brian Hickerson.
The 30-year-old former “Nashville” star released a statement on social media saying he is presenting himself in hopes of helping others in similar situations.
“I am moving forward with the truth about what happened to me in hopes that my story will empower others in abusive relationships to get the help they need and deserve,” she wrote on Instagram. “I am prepared to do my part to make sure this man never hurts anyone again. I am grateful for my support system, which helped me find the courage to regain my voice and my life. “
In the caption, he added, “You are not alone,” along with the phone numbers of the domestic abuse hotlines.
Panettiere’s statement comes after Hickerson, 31, was arrested Thursday at 9:00 p.m. M. Local time in Los Angeles for serious crimes, Page Six confirmed. His bond was set at $ 320,0000.
