Lorelai Gilmore was in a position as a perfect mom Gilmore Girls. In the show’s seven-season stint, Lorelai encouraged and guided her daughter, Rory Gilmore, while maintaining a solid friendship with both the teenage Rory and Rory. Upon closer inspection, Lorelai was not exactly a perfect mother. He encouraged Rory to tell a lot of lies, and in doing so, she disrupted her daughter’s life.
Lorelai encouraged Rory to lie to Dean
Lore Lalai was not great in a romantic relationship, so it should come as no surprise that she did not give voice advice to her daughter, instead. After Rory and her first boyfriend, Dean Forrester, she sends Rory to a party in Hartford. At that party, Rory kissed her nemesis, Tristan Dagre. A few weeks later, Dean and Rory are back together.

Rory wanted to clear the air with Dean and tell him he kissed Tristan, but Lorelai didn’t advise him. Instead, she thought it would be better for Rory to stop kissing and never show up with Dean. The advice could have spoiled the advice again if the trustee had mentioned kissing in front of the dean.
Lorelai also told Rory to lie to her friend
Many years later, Rory faced a serious problem. The Yale student who befriended her was dating her ex-Paul Martin. Marty made things very strange by pretending not to know Rory. When Rory told Loreline about the situation, he advised Rory to go with Martina’s lie.

This was, perhaps, some of the worst advice Lorelai gave to her daughter. Not only did she recognize how strange the whole situation was, but she advised Rory to keep something from someone who, by all accounts, was a nice person. Logan Huntzberger eventually told Lucy that Rory and Marty were friends. While some fans believe that Logan was blabbering on about exposing Martin, he was actually doing the right thing.
Lorilai felt absolutely dead on teaching Rory to lie Gilmore Girls
Lorelai herself did not seem to be a huge liar. She was always telling the truth when she was lying to him the most. For example, he told Luke Danes that he slept with Christopher Hayden when he didn’t really need to be notified. Still, Lorelai often insisted that Rory never lie, while advising her to do so.

So why did Lorelai advise Rory to lie so often? It’s hard to say, but Lorelai definitely saw it as an easy option, even though she often doesn’t take that option herself. Still, Rory’s lies never worked for her. Still, when the fans rejoined him Gilmore Girls: One Year in Life, She was still lying.
