Has anyone won the $ 49 million?

The Mega Millions jackpot last night (Friday) was estimated at $ 49 million, with a cash prize of $ 38.9 million. But did one manage to take home the grand prize?

The winning numbers were 11, 15, 31, 42 and 63, with the Mega Ball 14 and the Megaplier 2x, according to the Mega Millions website.

There were no lucky winners of the grand prize yesterday, as no purchased tickets managed to match all the white numbers and the golden Mega Ball, meaning the jackpot will move on to the next draw on Tuesday.

However, there were two winners of the second biggest $ 1 million prize with those cards that matched all five white balls. One of those ticket holders owned the Megaplier, doubling their money to $ 2 million.

There were five people who won at least $ 10,000 after correctly winning four of the white balls and the golden Mega Ball. One of those winners doubled their payout to $ 20,000 because they also bought the extra 2x Megaplier.

Some 243 players won $ 500 by matching four numbers, and of those winners, 45 won $ 1000 with the Megaplier. In addition, 662 people won $ 200 by matching three numbers and the Mega Ball, and 124 of them doubled their prize to $ 400 with the Megaplier.

More than 29,000 players won $ 10 by matching three numbers as two numbers and the Mega Ball and more than 6,000 of these players won $ 20 with the Megaplier.

Because the jackpot was not won, it now increases in size to roughly $ 57 million, with a cash option of $ 45.5 million, for the next draw at 11pm ET on August 25th.

The final winner of the grand prize for jackpot was from a ticket sold in California for the 07/31/20 drawing of $ 22 million. There have been only four Mega Millions jackpot winners this calendar year.

How does Mega Millions work?

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery that was first launched on August 31, 1996. One of the most popular lotteries in the country, tickets are sold in 45 states, as well as the District of Columbia and the US Virgin Islands. Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday on WSB-TV in Atlanta.
