Hands on No: iOS 14 Beta 7 changes and features [Video]

Apple Play released the seventh iOS 14 beta yesterday, and it comes bundled with some notable updates. Check out our short hands-on video with Kathro as we explore the new iOS 14 Beta 7 changes and features.

What’s new in iOS 14 Beta 7?

  • Updated Application Library Categories
  • New wallpapers

Although there are clearly not a ton of new iOS 14 Beta 7 changes and features, the few changes that stand out are relatively significant. First and foremost, there are much-needed improvements to the application library. More specifically, the self organiz-organized app categories have been updated with more relevant folders such as productivity and finance, travel and shopping and food. These new categories should go a long way in making it easier to find the apps you’re looking for in the app library.

The App Library is a major change in the way iOS works, and the biggest change in the way apps are configured on the iPhone since the App Store debuted. My hope is that Apple will continue to enhance the Pall App Library to make it more user friendly.

Another standout feature in iOS 14 Beta 7 is the addition of six new wallpapers from its classic logo featuring Apple’s iconic six-color theme. These new wallpapers have light and dark versions in each of the six colors of the logo.

The interesting thing about these new wallpapers is that the dark versions are all the same, and the color is easily changing for a dark background. The true difference between the dark and light versions would have been 12 new wrappers instead of just six. My suggestion is to paint the wallpapers in a darker color instead of going with all the black backgrounds.

As we get closer and closer to the iOS 14 GM release, expect to continue to use new changes and features. What do you think of these two new enhancements in iOS 14 Beta 7? Sound in the comments below with your thoughts.
