Halo’s infinite delay was not due to the ongoing TV Show project, says 343

The recent news about Halo Infinite Delay made a splash in the industry, not only because of the importance of the game itself, but also because it was established later this year as the most prominent launch title of the Xbox Series X.

Following the news, famed Microsoft insider Brad Sams posted an article about Thurrott, concentrating on the reasons behind the development problems he was able to gather through anonymous sources at 343 Industries.

Halo Infinite Dev issues reporting due to heavy outsourcing, distraction from TV series

For example, one source cited the production of TV shows (currently running on Showtime) as an ‘important’ distraction for the management of the studio. 343 Industries, however, decided to refute this particular claim in a statement shared with IGN yesterday.

343 Industries has a dedicated transmedia team working with Showtime to set up and produce the Halo TV show. This group is separate from the Halo Infinite development team. These are two completely independent projects with dedicated teams and leadership that have no effect on each other.

However, the statement does not discuss the other major obstacle mentioned in the report penned by Sams. That’s the heavy-handed outsourcing of the development of Halo Infinite, which reported the collaborative effort between studios challenging to say the least.

However, 343 Industry Community Manager John Junyszek recently told fans to hang tight regarding Halo Infinite news after the official delay.

FYI: There will be no Community Update this week. We know there are a lot of questions, especially as far as Halo Infinite is concerned, but stick to it first. There is a lot to work on, including communication plans, but please let us know more to share when you are ready.
