Halo veterans return to the series to help end Infinite

No Halo infinite has been delayed from the launch of the Xbox Series X, developer 343 Industries is bringing in a veteran of the series to help guard the game after its new release in 2021. Joseph Staten – one of the developers responsible for the characters , the story and scenes of the original Halo trilogy – returns to the franchise as project management on the Halo infinite campaign, 343 announced late Wednesday.

Bloomberg originally broke the news of Staten’s return on Wednesday night, and the official announcement of 343 was published less than an hour later on Halo Waypoint.

States will serve as project leadership on the Halo infinite campaign. Pierre Hintze fan Halo: The Master Chief Collection has also jumped ship to help finish Halo infinite; he will be the project lead for the multiplayer component of the game, which is free to play.

In his Halo infinite delay announcement Earlier this month, 343 Industries cited the global pandemic and work-from-home conditions as factors driving the game back. But the announcement came a little over three weeks later Halo infiniteThe first gameplay show, which did not go well with long fans.

The return of Staten suggests that 343 seeks more than to improve its work-from-home conditions from now until launch. States will now lead the campaign team for the final year of development – a role that seems similar to Rod Fergusson’s position as ‘closer’ to BioShock Infinite in his last push for release. And it certainly does not hurt that Staten is a beloved figure in the Halo community, a person that fans trust because of his association with Bungie’s trilogy; this is the kind of good news that 343 need at the moment (and it seems to be well received by fans).

Staten worked alongside Bungie and the Halo team for years, leaving the studio a year ahead Lotlaunched in 2014. States joined Microsoft’s publishing group a year after his departure and worked on other internal projects such as tell me why. This will be Staten’s first Halo work since 343 took over the 2012 franchise in 2012 Halo 4.

Halo infinite is 343 Industries’ third major Halo game, after Halo 4 en Halo 5: Guards (the studio is also responsible for spin-offs as well Halo Wars 2). Halo infinite follows the story of Master Chief on yet another Halo Ring, fighting against The Banished – the primary antagonists of Halo Wars 2. The gameplay revelation resembled classic Halo, but showed Master Chief with some major upgrades, such as a new grappling hook.
