Halo Infinite’s director of narrative experience, Dan Chosich, responded to one of those fans on Twitter, who had tweeted to express his disappointment with the campaign game that was shown during the Xbox event. Chosich replied: “I have been in your shoes. I know what it is to have high expectations + be disappointed. I want you to know that your voice matters + to be heard. You are not falling on deaf ears. I always want to live up to the legacy that Bungie was a pioneer. I personally care a lot about honoring that. “
Xbox Marketing Manager Aaron Greenberg also recently commented negatively on the game’s footage. Speaking to Inside Gaming, Greenberg said: “Listen, we are in the midst of a global pandemic. It is July; we are far from vacation, you are watching a work in progress game,” adding: “It is very difficult to show all the power and graphical fidelity of what Xbox Series X can offer you through a stream, so come back and watch it in 4K / 60. It’s a work in progress. We see build logs every week, and they progress week after week, so between now and Holiday, it will get better and better. ” It was also confirmed that the footage had been captured on a PC with specifications similar to the Xbox Series X, rather than the console itself.
Halo Infinite will launch at Holiday 2020 and, according to the description, will be “the most extensive Master Chief story to date.” As Greenberg says, there is still some time left before the holiday period, with regular registrations every week until then, so the Halo Infinite we’ll see at launch is likely to be very different.
