Microsoft has finally shown the Halo Infinite game, but the reaction has been mixed. Some people criticized the appearance of the game, leading Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg to point out that the game is a work in progress and will improve in the lead-up to the launch period.
Now, Halo Infinite’s director of narrative experience, Dan Chosich, has commented further on fan reaction to Halo Infinite. He said on Twitter that he understands what it feels like to be disappointed after being exalted by something. He wants fans to know that his concerns “are not falling on deaf ears.” The series has come under fire since 343 took over Bungie, so much so that some players think they are mediocre, multiplayer campaign modes that seem to lack their own identity.
“I’ve been in your shoes. I know what it’s like to have high expectations + be disappointed,” Chosich said. “I want you to know that your voice matters + to be heard. You are not falling on deaf ears. I always want to live up to the legacy that Bungie pioneered. I personally care very much about honoring that.”
People have commented that Halo Infinite images look “flat” and not as impressive, despite Microsoft touting the power of Xbox X-Series. Developer 343 Industries is taking some comments in stride, even embracing the Craig the Brute meme.
In addition to gamers, some brands are getting involved in diving into Microsoft for the Halo Infinite reveal. The Domino’s Pizza UK Twitter account roasted Microsoft for the Halo Infinite graphics.
Halo Infinite will look better after launch as 343 is planning a ray tracing update sometime after launch.
