Stephanie also shares three sons with ex-husband Gavin Rosdale, and during recent episodes Zen Lo Lo Show, She revealed that her sons had trouble reading and she found out she was dyslexic.

“One of the things I found out was because of the kids,” he said.

“And I think a lot of the problems are that the decisions I make for myself also stem from that, because now kids – obviously, it’s all genetic – have some of those issues.”

But Stephanie also stressed that her children are getting plenty of support with “incredible teachers” at the school. “They don’t have to be ashamed of this. They understand that their brains work differently. All of our brains do, you know what I mean?”

Stephanie also reflected on how Search changed her perspective on her own struggles, as she “failed at school.” “I was a good girl. I didn’t do anything bad. It was really hard for me to work in a school square box that everyone should understand.”

“And my brain doesn’t work like that; it still doesn’t work. But it works in different ways that are probably gifts that other people can’t.”

And Stephanie elaborated on this last point, how to cope with the dilemma she faced with no doubt and by herself.

“At the time, I wrote that whole record that I didn’t even know how to write a song and I literally tied my whole life to listening to everyone. And even then I’m in this band.” [No Doubt band member Tony Kanal], Maybe because of my dyslexia I was very dependent on Kona. “

“I didn’t know any of this until today, but I think I didn’t believe in myself at the time. When I wrote a song or came on stage, it felt just right and the only thing that was right for me.”
