When we had last month Opportunity to sit with Sir Gordon Murray himself, We asked if there was probably any intention to put T.50 On a fitness regime to prepare him for racing. The next word was that there would be 25 additional series production track cars intended to start the supercar racing series. We didn’t get many details at the time, but now the cat is out of the bag. Codenmade T50S, said this is the first glimpse of the Truck version. It almost seems ready for Le Mans.
While the off-road version for a simple supercar design turns off the big wings and splitter, the racing version cranks everything up to eleven with a large stabilization ‘shark fin’, leading to a wider rear wing and a more aggressive one with a wider Diffuser behind floor arrow system.
“The incredible focus on performance, and free from road-going laws and maintenance considerations, the T50S will achieve a surprising impact on the track, demonstrating the full extent of the car’s capabilities,” Murray says. “We’ve thrown this car all the way up to the level of doing anything – it’s a celebration of British engineering and our team’s vast motorsport experience.”
“I want to organize a series of racing events as part of our Trackspeed package to make sure the T50 runs regularly. There will be nothing like the experience of driving this car. And hearing that … well, that would be something else! I want each of the 25 cars to be completely unique until the paint finish. “
This new racing version is just 211 pounds more light than a road car at 1962 pounds. That makes the T.50S about 30 pounds heavier than Toyota’s Le Mans-winning TS050 LMP1 car. The car’s Cosworth V12 has also been given some extra ponies in a few tweaks. With some cylinder headwork and free-flowing race exhaust, the T50S, due to the RAM air effect, when in motion, now lays down about 720 hp simultaneously.
