After three years of support, the Pixel 2 has received its last update from Google: a delayed November security patch on the device this month, which is noted Android Central. Google’s device support schedule indicates that the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are not guaranteed security updates after October 2020.
Google In October 2017, Google announced the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. Both devices were identical in every way except size, and they received much acclaim for their somewhat groundbreaking cameras. Google really leaned towards camera software and computing photography, and the result was in Pixel 2 – its only rear-facing camera far ahead of the multi-camera-toting competition.
Aside from the fairly capable camera and overall selectable design, it wasn’t without its pitfalls. The screen of the Pixel 2 XL encountered some well-documented problems, including the tendency towards a blue cast when viewed at a slight angle. Putting aside the drawbacks, the 2 and 2 XL will be remembered as the best smartphones that put really incredible image processing capabilities in your pocket.
Still, time is running out, and current pixel devices will have a December security patch this week. New features borrowed from the latest devices, such as Pixel and the new adaptive Sound and Extreme Battery Saver mode, will also be available.
