Google has just announced that it will host an online event for its smart home developer community on July 8. The tech giant canceled I / O earlier this year, which was scheduled for May 12, due to the pandemic, and even decided not to arrange an online replacement as a result of the refuge order at the California location. While California appears to have reversed its reopening plans due to an explosion of new coronavirus cases, Google will move forward with a virtual event this time.
The Works With “Hey Google” Smart Home Summit will kick off with a keynote address by Michele Turner, director of product management for Google’s Smart Home Ecosystem. Turner will speak about the tech giant’s latest smart home initiatives and introduce new tools that will make it easier for developers to implement the Google Assistant integration. Here is a panel discussion with representatives from some of the largest smart home device manufacturers, who will discuss how COVID-19 has affected their business and the industry in general.
