Since it was first introduced in 2015, the Google Store website has been the de facto place to find Made By Google products like Pixel phones, laptops, and tablets. With elegantly designed product pages and detailed spec lists, it’s the place where every Google nerd enjoys browsing during their spare time. Now the site has introduced a video page that picks up everything from promotional device ads to setup guides.
The new video page is linked in the Pixel, Nest and Pixelbook categories in the top menu. Marked as a collection of videos to help users “get the most out of” their devices, the page features three categories of videos: product introductions, setup and installation, and tips and tricks, each having its own section, with around of 20 videos listed in each one.
Definitely my favorite is the product introductions category, where they list all the fun ads that helped fuel the launch of key products like Pixel 3a and Pixelbook Go. The install and install category is self-explanatory, and shows detailed guides for new products to work once they arrive at your doorstep. Finally, the tips and tricks section seems to be a bit engaging, with videos on everything from the latest Pixel features to explanations on how to draw with the Pixelbook pen.
Clicking on a video takes you to a separate page that highlights related products and videos.
The Google Store is now five years old, and it’s nice to see that it’s still maturing as Google tries to figure out how to become a viable hardware company. It may seem a bit repetitive when all the videos are just inlays from the company’s YouTube channels, but putting them together in a clean layout directly on the Google Store website helps ensure that potential customers stay involved without being distracted by the recommendations. from YouTube.
