Google Maps rolls out the traffic light feature

A Google spokesman said the tech company had “made changes to help people get to know better along the way.” The new road signs are visible in the app at the intersection of US cities on both Android and iOS.

Google’s latest design for its navigation app was unveiled last month. The update includes a “color-mapping algorithmic technique” to help users more easily identify different terrain types, such as beaches and forests. The company said the Google Maps redesign will also include redesigning of sidewalks and pedestrian islands to see better navigation.

According to the company, the feature featuring traffic lights at international destinations has been available on Google Maps in Japan for years. But it was one of the most sought after facilities in the United States.

Earlier this year, Google Maps began testing the traffic lights feature in some selected cities in the United States, the tech company confirmed to The Verge in July.
