Google Fi is now offering a new way to buy a phone: a subscription plan. Instead of just buying a device, you can now sign up for a two-year contract, pay a few bucks on your monthly bill, and get a phone to go with your service plan.
You have a whole device to choose from, the Pixel 4A (not the Pixel 5?). The original contract is $ 9 per month for two months ($ 216 total), which will get you a Pixel 4A (MSRP) 349 at the end of the plan which is “your keep”. From there, Google imagines that you will continue to pay a subscription fee and build a new device, the company proposes to you to “upgrade to a new pixel after 2 years.”
