In a sigh of relief, the Corona Virus pandemic has slowed down in India as the cases recorded in the past five days have dropped.
While the nation registered 66,999 cases on August 13, the cases have been steadily declining. Covid’s daily growth grew from 2.87 percent to 2.08 percent. The past two days, the total Covid cases across the country were below 60k.
On Tuesday, the nation registered 55,079 fresh Covid-19 cases. Interestingly, the total number recovered on Tuesday was 57,937. Meanwhile, the total number of Covid cases has exceeded 2.7 million marks.
However, medical experts say it is too early to estimate that Covid is slower in the country. They said 2 days of the last 5 days were holidays – August 15 and August 16 and said this could have resulted in the dip in the number of Covid tests across the country.
Experts estimated that about 1.5 lakh of Covid tests have come down in the past 5 days compared to normal days and therefore asked people to still be careful and practice strict measures thoroughly.
Interestingly, the recovery time increases. Of the 27 lakh Covid cases, 19.77 lakh were recovered and the recovery time stood at 73.18 per cent. In the last 6 days, the recovery rate is 90.73 percent, while the death rate is 1.53 percent.
In the last 24 hours, the active cases have dropped by 3,734. This is a positive sign, experts say. While the Covid positivity rate between July 8 and July 14 is 10.03 percent, the Covid positivity rate between July 12 and 18 is 7.72 percent. However, one has to wait and see what the situation will be like next week.
