A new sale on DRM-free PC games, called the Harvest Sale, is underway at GOG. In addition to more than 1,500 discount titles, the CD Projekt distribution service offers a free download of Serious Sam: The First Encounter for 48 hours only.
The debut entry in Croteam’s first-person shooter series, Serious Sam: The First Encounter was first released in 2001 on Windows PC. GOG gives it away for free until 9 a.m. ET on Wednesday. Just click on the icon on the sales page and the DRM free title will be added to your GOG library.
The Harvest Sale also includes discounts on an enormous selection of games, from “indie gems” as well Frostpunk en Moonlighter to “good old games” like Myst Masterpiece Edition en Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. GOG offers discounts up to 91% on hundreds of titles, so it’s worth browsing through the sales to see if there’s anything you can find.
The title of Harvest Sale is probably a tie-in to the upcoming dieselspunk real-time strategy game Iron Harvest, due to September 1. Until September 8, GOG goes into another real-time strategy game, Sudden Strike 4, free when you buy or pre-order Iron Harvest.
GOG’s Harvest Sale runs through August 31st.
