LOS ANGELES – Glee actor Naya Rivera raised her hand and called for help as she accidentally drowned while boating with her 4-year-old son on a California lake, according to an autopsy report released Friday.
As his mother helped him get back on the boat, the boy saw that ‘Decenter put his hand in the air and’ helped, the Ventura County Medical Examiner reported. ‘Water
Officials had earlier said Riviera accidentally drowned a boy named Josie Hollis Dorsey back in a boat on Lake Peru in northwest Los Angeles in July, but he did not mention screaming for help.
Rivera “knows how to swim well,” the report said.
The man who rented her a Pontoon boat said she refused the waste of life, but he somehow put it in the morning.
It turned out that the 33-year-old Riviera had previous problems with vertigo, had recently had a sinus infection, and had low levels of prescribed amphetamines in her system, but did not identify the physical condition or drug as factors in her death.
Toxicology tests also showed that she had a low appetite, therapeutic dose, and appetite suppressant phentermine with the anti-anxiety drug diazepam in her system.
Josie, Rivera’s son with her ex-husband, actor Ryan Dorsey, was found sleeping and alone on a floating boat that afternoon.
Five days later, his body was found floating in an area of the lake, about 30 feet deep. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said it was trapped in thick vegetation underwater for several days before it floated to the top.
Josie was soon reunited with her father and other relatives.
The day before his death, Rivera tweeted a photo of the two, saying, “Only two of us.” In her memoirs, she called it “my greatest achievement,” and I would never do better than her. “
Rivera’s death was the third of a lead cast member of “Glee,” the Fox TV musical comedian, who played the singer and danced the lesbian cheerleader between 2009 and 2015.
Rivera’s body was found seven years after co-star Corey Monteith died at the age of 31 from a toxic mixture of alcohol and heroin.
Another co-star, Mark Selling, who dated Riviera at one point, committed suicide in 2018 at the age of 35 after pleading guilty to child pornography charges.
