Gigi Hadid has responded to claims that she is deliberately “disguising” her tummy amid calls to brag about it.
The 25-year-old supermodel said she had been hiding her baby with a number of fashion options that would keep her out of sight.
British Vogue had previously suggested that Gigi had talked about her bump during an Instagram Live with fans, answering a question about not having a “belly.”
The model, who is pregnant with the baby of former One Direction star Zayn Malik, said: “This angle and the really baggy jumpsuit create an optical illusion. Sideways it’s a different story!”
Gigi has responded by saying that he was not trying to fool his fans and that there were no “costumes” as stated.
Addressing Twitter, Gigi wrote: “Disguised … I said in a baggy jumpsuit that the front and side views are visually different stories, not that it was intentional or I was trying to hide something. I will be proud and happy to share ‘” when I look forward to it, thanks. ”
She added: “For now I am proudly experiencing and sharing this time with my family and loved ones.”
Gigi confirmed the exciting news of the baby in April during a virtual appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, but has not revealed whether it is a boy or a girl he is expecting.
She said at the time: “Obviously, we wish we had announced on our own terms, but we are very excited and happy and grateful for everyone’s good wishes and support.
“Especially during this time … it is a nice glimmer of hope to be able to be at home and to be together and really experience it day by day.”
Gigi had dropped a clue earlier in the year about becoming a mother as she said she wouldn’t be modeling her entire life and that she wanted to start a family.
She told iD magazine: “I think as I get older … well, one day I will start a family and I don’t know if I will always be modeling.
“I love the creative side of fashion, it is very rewarding. The people I work with make me very happy, I am very lucky to be around them. But who knows? Maybe I dedicate myself to cooking full time! “
