The Giants used a crucial off-fuse deadline to get several key players to sign a one-year contract, bid for two others and significantly clarify the back of their 40-man roster.
Alex Dickerson and Austin Slater were among the five people who signed a one-year contract on Wednesday, avoiding arbitration, while Donovan Solano and Rez Moronta received tender contracts that keep them under the club’s control, while the sides set a 2021 salary. Left-hander Tyler Anderson, utility man Daniel Robertson and catcher Chadwick Trump were particularly non-tendered, making them free agents, including Melvin Adon and Rico Garcia.
Not surprisingly, the club parted ways with Anderson and Robertson. Anderson was good as a back-end starter as a giant in the year alone, but with so many high-rise weapons available as free agents, the Giants can perform better in the open market as they aim to fill their circulation with flyers. . Robertson was a poor fit for the roster, which needed a left-handed bat at the final nuisance spot.
Trump was in a race to back up Buster Posey early next year, as the giants’ only goal is to give YE Bart more time. It is possible that he will re-sign with the Giants and come to the camp to try and win for the job. The Giants currently have 40 points and Bart is on their 40-man roster, after they also partnered with Tyler Heinemann and Aremis Garcia.

Along with Dickerson and Slater, the Giants re-signed with Trevor Gott, Darren Rough, Jerlyn Garcia and Wendy Peralta.
Dickerson was once again a force in the middle of the lineup last season, batting .298 / .371 / .576 and tying a career high with 10 homers. He is set as an everyday left fielder against right pitching, giving the Gents a dangerous left-band bat at a very cheap price. Dilson will receive 2. 1.2 million, more than double his salary in his first year in arbitration, according to MLB.com. The San Francisco Chronicle says Dickerson could again end left-field toning with Stein Slater, who received 1. 15.15 million in his first year of arbitration.
By re-signing Garcia and Wendy Peralta, the Giants can go into the rest of the off-season knowing they are set to the left in their bullpen, Garcia and Peralta will join Caleb Baragar and Sam Selman.

The Giants are short for right-handed relief, so they brought back a player who had a rough season but was reliable for them in 2019 and is capable of taking multiple innings out of the bullpen. Trevor Gott received ટ્રે 700,000, according to the MLB Network. The Giants signed Moronta, who missed the entire season as he was recovering from a shoulder injury, but the deal did not materialize. They still have many months left to do that before a potential arbitration hearing.
The rest of the biggest negotiations will be with Solano, who won the Silver Slugger Award and will significantly increase from 1.375 million.
