Which is becoming a regular occurrence, as we don’t have enough problems to deal with on Earth, so another huge thing in space has obviously been created for us. CTV News Brings that NASA’s “Big Planet” report has probably closed our place in more than two football fields and will pass over Earth tomorrow, Christmas Day. Known as the asteroid 501647 and designated as “2014 SD224”, the planet will be at Earth at about 3:20 a.m. ET. The good news is that the asteroid will not make contact with the Earth and will come close within 1.8 million miles of the surface.
For those who keep track at home, that means asteroids are a fraction of the size seen in popular disaster movies. Take Deep Impact, for example, which features a seven-mile-wide comet. The current asteroid is estimated to be between 92 and 210 meters (300 to 689 feet), making up about 2% of the size of that famous space object. The asteroid found at Armageddon was even larger, measuring 600 miles in length, and required the skills of Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck.
Notably, asteroid 10164.7, first seen in August 2014, has been classified as an NEO (near-Earth ject project) and NASA has also classified it as a “potentially dangerous” near-earth object. Apparently NASA will oversee its course during the day. For clarity, the “potentially dangerous” near-Earth jects are not designated because of how close the objects may be to collide with our planet but because of their size. The site also states that the other two NEOs are ready to fly to Earth in the past but they are much smaller than the planet 501647 and “pose no threat to Earth.”
The asteroid’s news comes weeks after NASA announced the passing of a “budget” of “unknown origin” to Earth in the early morning of December 1. Nevertheless, it makes headlines and spreads around the Internet due to the syntax, near the center – NASA’s jet propulsion In the laboratory, Earth Ject Object Studies (CNEOS) had a theory about what an object object is but could not confirm until then. After clearing the sky, it was confirmed that this is the NEO 1960 Era Centaur rocket booster. The rocket stage was caught in Earth orbit, part of the Apollo 12 Saturn V rocket probably passed our planet as well.
