Early Thursday morning, Garmin experienced a major disruption to its services, which is affecting Garmin Connect’s mobile apps, website, and Garmin.com. The disruption is also affecting Garmin call centers, which means the company cannot receive calls, emails, and online chats.
The company initially stated that its servers were down for maintenance, though that comment was soon followed by a more widespread service outage warning on Twitter.
We are currently experiencing a disruption affecting Garmin Connect and as a result the Garmin Connect website and mobile app are not working at this time.

What is causing Garmin Connect to go offline? ZDNet reports, citing the social sources of unidentified Garmin employees, the outage could be caused by a ransomware attack called WastedLocker. IThome It recently released a supposedly leaked memo that Garmin IT staff shared at its factories in Taiwan announcing scheduled maintenance Friday, July 24 through Saturday, July 25. Therefore, we can assume that Garmin Connect will be idle until the end of the week.
What can you do in the meantime? Keep calm! Most Garmin devices offer gigabyte storage for past activities. Everyone is likely to sync up smoothly once Garmin Connect is working again. If you need your activities uploaded to the cloud as soon as possible, try connecting your Garmin device to your computer, download the .fit file and manually upload it to another service. Strava makes this process quite perfect.
