G.O.P. Senator: Bilateral coronavirus bill extends evacuation protection, avoids direct payments

The Bilateral Coronavirus Relief Bill extends the dismissal period for those who cannot pay their rent, but does not include a federal stimulus check, Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La said.

Cassidy, one of 10 senators who drafted the proposed package, said he hoped Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Key. And President Trump will sign it.

While the final language is expected to take up arms earlier this week, one thing that won’t be included is a second round of direct payments to Americans.

“It may be a success, but it’s not in this bill,” Cassidy told Fox News Sunday.

“This is not a stimulus bill, this is a relief bill,” he said. “… there may be a stimulus investigation, but it will be part of a different part of the law.”

About અ 900 billion is being proposed by senators – including Manchin, DWV; Susan Collins, R-Maine; Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska; Meat Romney, R-Utah; Maggie Hassan, D.N.H .; G. Shaheen, D.N.H.; Angus King, I-Maine; And Mark Warner, D-Va. – represents a compromise between the McConnell-backed સમા 500 billion package and the ક 2.2 trillion plan sought by Democrats.

The bipartisan group is proposing to extend the moratorium on evacuations, which provides protection against those who cannot pay their rent. At the same time, Cassidy said, they also want to protect homeowners.

Cassidy said the “one-stick points” in negotiating the bill are liability protections for small businesses that would allow them to be exposed without having to worry about customers being contracted to a CWID-19.

Citing earlier mixed messages about the need for customers and employees to wear masks, Cassidy said there has to be some responsibility protection.

The senator said he is confident Trump and McCain will accept a compromise relief package, which he believes is urgently needed.

“The pain of the American people is leading to this, and I am hopeful that both leaders will come on board,” he said.
