Rip. Moe Brooks, R-Ala., Said Republican congressmen called a conference call on Jan. 1 on a rare Saturday night to consider their goal of overthrowing the Electoral College vote.
Continuing the conference call, Brooks tweeted: “Our fight for honest and fair elections will gain momentum.
“[Jim Jordan] And I co-lead the conference call W50+ Congressmen who are joining and fighting for the Republic of America, “he said, adding that the call started at 7 pm and continued well into the evening.
“President Trump and [White House Chief of Staff] Speaking meadows. Morley is high! Fight! “

Neither Brooks nor Jordan could be immediately reached by Fox News to confirm whose representatives were on the call.
Trump praised Republican congressmen who said they would reject the Electoral College vote. He described his frustration for congressmen who accepted Biden’s victory as “weak and boring” in a tweet on Tuesday.
To consider the objections, there must be support from at least one senator and delegate, who came forward Saturday after the announcement of the Army’s Josh Holly, as dozens of senators looked more likely than they were to object to Pennsylvania’s results.
Following the affirmative objections, the House and Senate will adjourn their joint session and set aside the objections for two hours.
The House and Senate will vote on certifying the results; Objections must maintain a simple majority, otherwise they will be dismissed and the existing results will be final.
Brooks said Saturday that pressure to encourage more GOP legislators to object to the results “gained momentum.” But the movement has also split the Republican Party, with many GOP senators condemning the move on Saturday.
Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, has been critical of the president throughout his tenure and has called on the GOP’s senators’ plan to reject the results of the election-oriented college.
He added, “The power of Congress to deny voters is reserved for the most extreme and unusual circumstances. This is far from it. More Americans were participating in this election than ever before and they made their choice.”
Sen. Pat Tommy, R-Penn also defended the integrity of his state’s voting responsibility, condemning the move, saying Trump’s loss was “explained by a reduction in suburban support.”
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell had previously urged GOP senators to accept Biden’s victory, but neither he nor Senate Majority Whip John Thun could be reached for comment on the GOP’s recent progress in trying to turn the election around.

The Supreme Court has dismissed two lawsuits led by the Trump campaign, and dismissed more than 50 cases from lower courts across the country.
