Full debut of the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Set series for July 15

The Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series will make its official debut on July 15. This is the first new Merc to use the Black Series tag since the SLS AMG version of the 2014 model year.

If you want to take a good look at the AMG GT Black series, check out the teaser video starring Shmee150 showing the coupe without camouflage. It is an aggressive looking machine. There is a large divider in front. The fenders have shutters. The hood has two huge openings on the sides and a small shovel in the center. A gigantic, two-tier style dominates the rear.

What happens under the hood remains a mystery. The main rumor is that a twin-turbo V8 pumps as much as 720 horsepower (536 kilowatts) and 627 pound-feet (850 Newton-meters) of torque. If these numbers are accurate, then the Black Series is a significant jump over the existing AMG GT R with 577 hp (430 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm).

While there are no official details yet, it’s safe to expect the extra horsepower to come with the usual list of suspension and brake improvements. A lower ride height, stiffer springs, improved dampers, and larger calipers look like improvements that Mercedes-AMG engineers would make for the new Black Series.

People who operate a taxi company at the Nüburgring claim that the GT Black series can traverse the Nordschleife in an impressive 6 minutes and 58 seconds. In comparison, the GT R completes a circuit in 7 minutes and 10 seconds.

The price is also unknown, but the figure is most likely above the AMG GT R base price of $ 162,900. A figure close to $ 200K would not be surprising if rumors about the coupe’s performance turn out to be accurate.
