Friday: 34 new confirmed laboratory cases from COVID in Wyoming, 7 in Natrona County

CASPER, Wyo – 34 new laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Wyoming as of 9 a.m. on Friday, July 3. That brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 1,267, according to the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH).

Over the past 21 days, Wyoming has added an average of 20.24 laboratory-confirmed cases per day. Over the past week, the state has averaged 24.43 of these cases per day, according to the WDH.

Probable cases were revised to 315 in Wyoming Department of Health data on Friday. 317 probable cases had been reported on Thursday. 20 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported in the state.

An additional 10 recoveries of laboratory-confirmed cases brought the total to 903, and five additional recoveries of probable cases brought the total to 251 on Friday.

In Natrona County, seven additional laboratory-confirmed cases were reported on Friday, which has now seen 116 laboratory-confirmed cases. The probable cases reported in Natrona decreased from 22 on Thursday to 18 on Friday.

70 recoveries of laboratory confirmed cases and 13 recoveries of probable cases have been reported in Natrona.

A total of 47,932 COVID-19 tests have been completed in Wyoming. That includes 23,948 from the Wyoming Public Health Laboratory.

What to do if you feel sick: In the aftermath of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Casper-Natrona County Health Department says that people who feel ill or have symptoms should contact their GP.

If you do not have a primary care provider and you live in Natrona County, contact the COVID-19 hotline, operated by the Casper-Natrona County Health Department. The line is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm 577-9892. Hotline services are intended for residents of Natrona County and may not be able to provide specific information to callers from outside the county.

Officials request that the emergency room not be informed. People who have trouble breathing should call 9-11.

  • Practice social distancing putting up distance between you and other people. This is especially important for people at increased risk of becoming seriously ill.
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after being in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Stay home if you are sick
  • Cover coughs and sneezes. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, or use the inside of your elbow.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, door knobs, light switches, counter tops, handles, desks, telephones, keyboards, toilets, taps, and sinks.
