French Open 2020 Men’s Singles Final: Novak Djokovic vs Rafael Nadal – Live! | Sports

Q. You told the court that playing Rafa in Roland Garros is the biggest challenge in the game. How can you explain? What do you have to do to beat it on Sunday?

Novak Djokovic: Well, it’s not clear? He won this tournament so many times that I don’t think any player has won a tournament many times. He has lost twice on this court in his entire career. Obviously the conditions are different than what we are used to playing in May and June. I think it might be a better opportunity for me, obviously not kicking the ball high above the shoulder as he usually likes it.

Yes, I mean, look, regardless of the situation, it’s still there, it’s Rafa, it’s in the finals and we’re playing on clay. Playing his best-of-five in the final at Rolland Nd Geros, I know that feeling. We played a lot of matches against him on this court, but I also won one match in 2015 in straight sets in the quarters. It’s a match that I’ll look back on and obviously try to take some of the positives out of it and use it tactfully against it.

I’m not physically too tired after tonight’s match, about four hours later. It was a great battle. But I feel good. I think let recover day will be plenty of time for me to recover. I am really looking forward to the great fight with Rafa.

Q. He is going for his 20th Slam title. You are leaving on your 18th. People are saying that this is probably the biggest match you have ever played. Do you think that more can be done this time?

Novak Djokovic: Grand Slam finals are always huge. This is what you do all year round, every season hoping you can put yourself in a position to fight for a Grand Slam trophy. But I don’t think this is the biggest match I’ve ever played in my life. I think there were some big ones.

Importantly, I mean, I don’t like it even if I have to compare, but probably the first Wimbledon final I actually played against. Wimbledon was always what I wanted to win as a kid and dreamed of winning. It’s probably the one that happens. French Open 2016 here against Andy Murray. It was the match of my life before I actually won the French Open final I played.

Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like Al that sounds crap to me, Looks like Al that sounds crap to me, Looks like Al that sounds crap to me, Looks like Al that sounds crap to me. This is the only one I’ve won the least, so I’m very motivated to try to get my hands on another trophy.
