While different parts of the US have different rules when it comes to social distance during the COVID-19 pandemic, many of us still spend a lot of time indoors. To help people kill time, online storefronts and developers are giving away many free games across PS4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile. Because there are so many freebies going on right now, we’ve released all the games that are free for a limited time, so you can easily claim for anyone you’re interested in. This list will not include games that are normally free-to-play – such as Fortnite, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Apex Legends – but you will surely find something to fall in love with, whether it’s an old PC classic is, a must-play iPhone game, or a brand-new game.
The freebies span multiple platforms and storefronts, with most of the options available on PC from stores such as Steam, GOG, and Itch.io. You can currently grab The Alto Collection and Remnant: Rise From Ashes for free in the Epic Games Store, and there will be another free game next week. Nintendo has also released a surprise fitness game about jump-rope, and you can get it for free until the end of September. And for a limited time, Bethesda is offering free copies of Quake 3 to its own client.
You can already sign up for a service that gives you access to free monthly games. PlayStation Plus, Xbox Live Gold, and Twitch Prime all currently have free games available for the month of May.
In addition, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is currently $ 1 for your first month. Ultimate gives you access to an enormous library of games on both Xbox One and PC, in addition to all the benefits of Xbox Live Gold, including those free monthly games. There are a number of other similar services such as PlayStation Now, EA Access, Origin Access, and UPlay +.
We will keep this list updated as more free games become available, so stay tuned throughout the week. Games that have recently been made available for free are bold.
