Donald Trump’s plans for a new milestone honoring “the best Americans who have ever lived” are off to a difficult start.
Already criticized for his lack of diversity in the proposed initial selections, Trump received a new blow from Nancy Sinatra, daughter of legendary actor and singer Frank Sinatra. In response to a tweet from her former stepmother, Mia Farrow, who was married to Frank Sinatra for a short time, that Frank “would have hated Donald Trump,” his daughter Nancy replied, “Actually, I hated him.”
Nancy Sinatra has publicly criticized Trump in the past. But the reason for her comment on Twitter has to do with a complaint by Trump that Frank Sinatra was making too much money for a disputed appearance at the opening of Trump’s Taj Mahal in Atlantic City in 1990. Sinatra reportedly appeared with Sammy, a member of. Rat Pack. Davis Jr and vocal duo Steve and Eydie.
Sinatra’s proposed settlement had been drawn up by an executive who subsequently died in a helicopter crash before finalizing it. When Trump took over, he tried to remove the additional acts that were part of the original agreement, including Davis, who had just been diagnosed with cancer, and Steve and Eydie. Trump claimed that the costs were too high.
Upon learning of the renewed deal, Sinatra was furious and ended up performing at the Sands Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
