CLEVELAND, Ohio – Fox Sports and Sportstime Ohio have been renamed Bali Sports.
Sinclair casino operator reached a long-term deal with operator Bally Lee for the rights to the stability of the regional sports network, including Cavaliers and Cable Homes of the Indians. According to the New York Post, the 10-year contract is worth 85 85 million.
The deal, announced Wednesday, finally puts an end to the common misconception that 21 Fox-branded sports channels are owned by Fox, when in fact, Disney needed to dive into the network as part of a merger with the 21st, after Sinclair bought them in 2019. Century Fox.
More importantly, the partnership means that Beatles will integrate its gambling content into broadcasts on Sinclair properties, including 190 local television stations, and, ultimately, allow fans to place live bets on games from their TVs. Bally Lee recently acquired Bet.Works, a sports betting and iGaming company, for 125 125 million for its development.
Suu Kyi, chairman of the corporation’s board of directors, said in a press release: Sports betting presents an opportunity to revolutionize the gaming and media industries.
Chris Ripley, President and CEO of Sinclair, added that Beatles is a perfect ally to help change the way we watch sports across all of our assets, with its strong brand name, premier sportsbook technology platform and expanded market reach. “By integrating gamification elements that allow audiences to have a more personalized and interactive game experience, future live game customers can look forward to a more dynamic and exciting game-watching experience.”
Ever since Cinepler acquired the sports network, Ripley has been talking about the idea of consolidating sports betting, which is popular in Europe.
“If you are interested in gaming, we will play additional statistics, the ability to prop bets in the game, pitch by pitch, game by game,” he told Reuters in May 2019. “You can play together. And bet when you see.”
Don’t expect to see those features when the Cavaliers give tips from the season at BL Sports Ohio (to decide the final name) in December. Sport betting is now somehow legal in 22 states, but not Ohio, where attempts to get it through state houses have stalled.
The inclusion of Bally Lee’s new content and capital, however, could be the match that revives the conversation between Sinclair and YouTube TV, Hulu, Fubotiv, Sling and Dish to recapture sports channels on that platform.
