Back in February, Tyleik Williams received an offer from Larry Johnson and the Buckeyes.
However, due to some miscommunication, Williams did not realize he was being offered by Ohio State until early April.
‘He offered me a while ago. I just never knew until today, ‘Williams said Eleven warriors on April 2. “I had talked to him on the phone, and he said he had offered me the phone. I think I did not hear it.”
Well, there are no more misunderstandings. Johnson wanted Williams in the Buckeyes’ 2021 class, and today he got that wish.
The Williams file

Williams’ commitment to Ohio State announced the four-star prospect this afternoon, giving the Buckeyes the No. 1 spot. 160, defense pack no. 10 and player no. 5 in Virginia from Unity Reed High School.
Williams is a teammate of Ohio State colleague Shawn Murphy, a five-star linebacker in the 2022 class and perhaps the Buckeyes’ top scorer on the standings. The school was formerly known as Stonewall Jackson High School until this past June.

On June 24, the 6-foot-3, 330-pound Williams cut his list to a final six from Ohio State, Alabama, North Carolina, LSU, South Carolina and Virginia Tech. He had been Crystal Ball at Virginia Tech until Tuesday night, when 247Sport national analyst Steve Wiltfong predicted Williams would pick the Buckeyes. That prediction came after several of its 2021 commitments began tweeting that another promise was coming soon.
Williams ‘effort came a bit out of the shadows, as the Buckeyes’ top goalscorers on the defensive line up to this point were JT Tuimoloau and Tywone Malone. But after the dissolution of Tunmise Adeleye, Williams brings another solid presence to the defensive line, as the Buckeyes continue to chase Tuimoloau and Malone.

Williams returns Ohio State with a total of 19 commitments if the program trends to land 24 or 25 in this class by 2021.
Williams is the third defensive lineman and second defensive tackle in the class, as he will play alongside Jack Sawyer and Mike Hall in the locks.
