Texas received good news on Friday with a commitment to Jamier Johnson. Pasadena, California, four-star prospect John Muir chose the Longhorns over offers from the state of Arizona, Colorado, Ohio, Florida, Michigan and USC.
Johnson was offered by the Texas defensive coordinator Chris Ash after a January tour of California, Texas recruited him heavily during the coronavirus pandemic. The staff emphasized academics for Johnson and his mother, and that particular tone resonated with the family.
